Andy Hobbs has a long established career in racing. His real passion started with
National Hunt racing as a young lad working for David Barons in Kingsbridge in Devon.
Andy was born in Taunton and brought up in Highbridge, Somerset. Andy's late father was
keen race follower and it is no surprise that Andy caught "the bug." So as a very young lad
Andy took off to Devon for the university of life at David Barons "Wotton Farm Stables."
Where he obviously learnt something about how to train a horse!!!
The good old stories include Seagram winning the 1991 Grand National, Topsham Bay winning
2 Whitbread Gold Cups and Four mile NH Chase at Cheltennham Festival and Play School
winning the Hennessey Gold Cup, The Welsh Grand National and the Irish Gold Cup.
Andy took out his own licence under rules and trained nearly 50 winners before deciding
to focus on the point to pointers and hunter chasers. Kippanour was one of Andy's favourite horses.
under rules,he won 8 races for Andy and particularly liked Huntingdon; winning there 4 times.
